HISTORY OF CROWTHER LIMITED
Crowther Machinery Limited was founded as a textile machinery manufacturer in Leicester, England. In 1950, John Crowther came to Canada to establish Crowther Ltd as a division of Crowther Machinery Limited. Crowther Ltd expanded its service portfolio to include high-end industrial equipment in addition to textile machinery. In 2005, Crowther Machinery Limited acquired WS Wood Associates Limited, the Cambridge Ontario-based specialist in textile static control.
Three years later Crowther Machinery Limited acquired the leading Canadian distributor of textile equipment and accessories Ross Whitehead.
Crowther & Wood Ltd was born from the merger of the two companies, demonstrating the integration of industrial equipment to provide a better service to its customers. Currently, Crowther & Wood Ltd has more than 70 years of experience in the industry, with its headquarters located in Canada.
Crowther & Wood Central America Division
Crowther & Wood Ltd was founded in San Pedro Sula due to the demand for the signing of an international contract that required timely attention to one of the leading Canadian companies in the textile industry in Honduras.
In 2004 Crowther & Wood Ltd, then Crowther Machinery, was the corporate distributor of Vickers Oils needle lubricants to the Canadian company.
The excellent quality of the products distributed by Crowther & Wood Ltd, in addition to their personalized services, opened the doors to supply other textile companies in Honduras and Central America. Based on this demand, the decision was made to increase the inventory available in Honduras.
Over the last 18 years Crowther & Wood Ltd has added more machinery options to its sales catalogue, becoming market leaders in textiles, static control solutions, marine lubricants and textiles.
